Seriously, comrade! epic and wonderful! But, I must question, why the hammer and sickle, symbolic of the working men for which the communist parties commonly represented, is not among them! Regardless, still grand. But, you should get some hammer/sickle action up in here.

It makes me laugh people, reading all these replies, one government system against another,in every system there is good points & bad ones,it is the human nature of the people in power who is to blame, take for instance Stalin it was his interpretation of socialism, for his own selfish power hungry motivations, not for his people, the common good of all.His own paranoia & threats to his leadership caused the death of millions of people not communism.Look at capitalism,we all work during the week, only to be ripped of by the consumer goods in which we buy, never being happy with our lifestyles, getting more & more depressed by the day, this research can be backed up because of leading psychologists & sociologists saying western & eastern economies have some of the most unhappy & dissatisfied people, crime rates always rising, anti social behavior with pathetic laws which do not work, people no respecting each other young & especially old.Poor people working their bullocks of all day, true hard graft, for the pathetic min um wage & dying younger on average than their rich capitalists ie:directors, chairmans, politicians, bankers, industrialists & so on.The very same people who are saying the unskilled don't wont work, these people wouldn't get out of bed for less than 70k a year it makes you
laugh. If capitalism was to be fairer for all classes, or should I say no class to be exact, the wealth of the country should be distributed to the needy so there is no poverty I don't mean reward people for sitting around, instead of all these rich peoples bank accounts swelling for the sake of it,take George Sorus why does he need billions to live on,also Bill Gates, I am not condemning what they have achieved personally, just the evil of hoarding money,in the bible it says gluttony is a sin, hence also money. It is human nature to blame people always wont more money than somebody else this is the problem,I personally think a balance between socialism & capitalism would work best, encouraging people to work hard for gain & distribute wealth to the vulnerable & disadvantaged. Education is the key to rising people living standards, unfortunately not everybody is academic, hence poverty, not because they are all lazy and bone idle .It should be a society of caring for your fellow human beings, not,who can accumulate the most wealth at someone else's expense.

Communism has failed simply because the state has been involved. Freedom without socialism is priveledge and inequality, but Socialism without freedom is brutality and slavery.

I'm an Anarcho-Communist. Anarchist communism advocates the abolition of the state and capitalism in favor of a horizontal network of voluntary associations, workers' councils and/or commons through which everyone will be free to satisfy their needs.

So, anyone who is convinced that authoritarianism and communism are synonymous REALLY isn't thinking critically.

You all should know that communism as a regime never exsisted. You see comunism is the final step of the vanishing of the state as a whole, and for communism to triumph you need the whole world to be united in that cause. And all of those "communist" states were socialist in nature. So, in a way communism is a united world with no politicians where the system is: "From each according to his abilities to each according to his needs"(i dont know if i wrote this right because english isnt my strong side).
And USSR did not colapse because communism is bad, but because americans payed Gorbachev for peretstroika which ruined the Soviet economy when it was at its peak. And SFRY(Yugoslavia) perished because every republic's nationalists were funded by guess who.
P.S. And for that cretein who talks about communist killings, I realy dont know if he heard for the NATO bombings of 1999,McCarthyism,Iraq...

I used to be a Communist but I realized that total equality with all the masses is impossible in this world. However, you can have equality in terms of value as a citizen in a nation, state or community. International equality will happen when hell freezes over. That said, you can have value in the role you play in a given society. The salaries of different workers and the wide variety of skills required in a country all have different monetary values but are still essential to the country's functions as a whole.

For example, the human body has many different parts and functions and without one function working properly the body dies or is critically damaging, and some parts work harder and longer than others. Nevertheless, this does not mean the others are not valued; on the contrary, they are interdependent. The heart, for instance, works all the time never ceasing (or, of course, you'll die) pumping blood everywhere thus supplying the rest of the body with oxygen, nutrients, et cetera. No one ever thinks though that the heart requires more electrical signals than the rest of the body to keep it running. Let us say that the signals are currency; the heart needs more money than the blood does (the worker).

In short, a country needs different classes require different monetary incomes but all are still valued equally in terms of need as a whole. Unity is the key term; functional society as a whole, each individual contributes their bit while the country runs smoothly.

Communism cannot work because of this principle nor can pure capitalism. A fusion between the two with other elements is needed for an effective nation; both an equal and unified one. It is the organic unity that makes society work; co-operation between social classes not trivial bickering. There will always be some group doing more work than others thus will be wanting more in return. Greed is humanity's downfall. Jealously, envy and selfishness are all in man's nature when there is no system in place that strives for unity rather than individualism.

Cheers,

Fritz I

Communism isn't about killing millions of people. That happens when you've got an oppresive dictatorship, regardless of what they claim to endorse. (For example, when it comes to social policies, Hitler and Stalin were quite similar.) Also, communism is a socioeconomic system, not a moral one.

Communism has only killed 100 million people. Let's give it another chance, you bastards.

I don't give a damn about your fashion, but when you openly advocate a perverse, immoral system because you are think it is hip and cool you're an accomplice to these deaths and the deaths of countless others who will die because of your ignorant support for oppressive regimes. If you think communism is about being anti-establishment and supporting the common man ask those who have lived under communist regimes how they feel about your ideas. Rhetoric is not cheap. Ideas have consequences. Consider the consequences of yours before you embrace this bullshit.
