I’m not a communist, merely a socialist. But to all you fascist capitalists saying communism won’t work: the only reason capitalism works is because it is all one big lie. But communism didn’t make people lazy, people are already lazy; they don’t believe that the benefit of the common good is more important then themselves. If people got off thier lazy assas then it would work. But that won’t happen. What should happen is that you only get paid if you work, and everyone should be allowed a job; that way the lazy shits will have to work if they want food and shelter. As for the mentaly and physically disabled who can not work in any way (which is very unlikely), they could apply for welfare.

A) Communism, as we have seen it, has been a miserable failure and been FAR WORSE than your so called U.S. Imperialism. Unless you want to compare our policies of reconstructing governments with 60 million dead in Stalin’s Gulogs.
B) People are naturally egotistical. There is no way of maintaining a society were everybody is concerned for the greater good.
C) If communism was around today….society would be stagnant. Without capitalism there is absolutely no incentive to perform or innovate. People strive to innovate because of competition and monetary gain. You can not say that enough people ( i say “enough people” because I know you can all come up with exceptions) will go through the extra years, stress, and work to finish med school if they arnt going to make serious money at the end of the journey.
In order for society to progress, there needs to be incentive. Communism doesn’t offer it.
The original communism was actually just a plan for a structure of society that labeled everyone as equals and worked towards the greater good tirelessly. Sounds too good to be true? Your right. Because as far as the facts stands, “communism” can never be achieved simply because its impossible for humans to actually adopt it’s philosophy. According to the Chinese implementation of communism (a total failure by the way) “a communist’s first joy is to work”… this was directly adopted from the original definition. Now “what kind of bull crap is that” you ask? it’s a sign that you’re unfit to be a communist.
All in all, it would be nice if communism could be true, everybody would live in a greed-free harmony, but it is by far too optimistic in the nature of human beings. Which is why we should just embrace the fact that selfishness is concretely sealed into our nature as a species and carry on living by capatalism which fits us perfectly “i worry about myself, you stay the hell out”

I believe that workers whould all have stock in a company so the harder they work, the more they make. I also believ that all community porperty (such as companies, parks, recreational halls) should be owned by the people and thier committies, not the government like communism.
you people clearly don’t know your marx. communism according to marx is a society that would eventuate many years after socialism had been implemented. his theory was that societys evolve over time to improve upon themselves-feudalism to capitalism to socialism to communism. it is therefore impossible to have a communist society unless it is already socialist! the ussr, the prc and the entire eastern bloc were stalinist regimes.stalin usurped socialism in russia when he seized power after lenin died, at the expense of trotsky who was supposed to be leader. stalin turned the ussr into a bureaucratic police state. yes millions did die at the hands of stalinists but that was due to them being paranoid megalomaniacal tyrants. the capitalists are constantly feeding us propaganda, through the media and the education system.you may not realise it, neither did the people in nazi germany or the ussr. just think advertising. they are trying to maintain the status quo, where a minute few gain vast riches while billions of people struggle to stay alive. you are unable to keep that amount of people under control for long.the revolution is coming.

A)In a socialist system (see Sweden) monetary compensation is offered to those who wish to pursue studies which is in itself an incentive for higher education. If the capitalist systems at least implemented some form of compensated higher education those whose studies take longer would not be seen as a reason to obtain higher salary.
B)In order to establish a harmonic system were true equality reigns we must not only abolish classes we must abolish the systems of governance. Communism and politicians tend to not work well together because those in power are more than likely the greedy therefore proper economic equality is biased by the heads of state. This is why communism has failed…and seldom have been seen Democratic-Communist states.
Also in reference to “the greater good” comments if a communist state is well run and well maintained most aspects of criminality will also be abolished, thus in a way the greater good leads to “involuntary” personal and “selfish” gain.

I also agree that while the KGB and the Soviet government had flaws that were mainly due to the paranoia of a great war hero, but the CIA and US government is far worse to the international community. It still shocks me that more is not said that the entire fact that was a “war on drugs” is because the CIA ran drugs during the Vietnam War. Which i believe was an even worse event than the war for oil. Perhaps more soldiers died in Vietnam, but more Iraqis have died than vietnamese. But the Vietnam war was an attempt to stop the spread of social equality and install a fascist dictator over all of vietnam. Besides, communism has always been cool. And if another war monger gets elected president, the time will be perfect for a communist uprising in America.

Well seeing as this has become a sort of debate about communism, communism in it’s self did not cause the death of anyone, Leninism, Stalinism and Maoism did though which are all off shoots of Marxism (which was rejected by Marx himself). As for the the wallpaper I think it’s pretty cool and unfortunately true, Communism has become something of a fashion statement for dumb teenager looking to “rebel” against mummy and daddy when if anyone took their Myspace and their iPods away they would probably have a panic attack.

Communism isn’t about killing millions of people. That happens when you’ve got an oppresive dictatorship, regardless of what they claim to endorse. (For example, when it comes to social policies, Hitler and Stalin were quite similar.) Also, communism is a socioeconomic system, not a moral one.

I used to be a Communist but I realized that total equality with all the masses is impossible in this world. However, you can have equality in terms of value as a citizen in a nation, state or community. International equality will happen when hell freezes over. That said, you can have value in the role you play in a given society. The salaries of different workers and the wide variety of skills required in a country all have different monetary values but are still essential to the country’s functions as a whole.
For example, the human body has many different parts and functions and without one function working properly the body dies or is critically damaging, and some parts work harder and longer than others. Nevertheless, this does not mean the others are not valued; on the contrary, they are interdependent. The heart, for instance, works all the time never ceasing (or, of course, you’ll die) pumping blood everywhere thus supplying the rest of the body with oxygen, nutrients, et cetera. No one ever thinks though that the heart requires more electrical signals than the rest of the body to keep it running. Let us say that the signals are currency; the heart needs more money than the blood does (the worker).
In short, a country needs different classes require different monetary incomes but all are still valued equally in terms of need as a whole. Unity is the key term; functional society as a whole, each individual contributes their bit while the country runs smoothly.
Communism cannot work because of this principle nor can pure capitalism. A fusion between the two with other elements is needed for an effective nation; both an equal and unified one. It is the organic unity that makes society work; co-operation between social classes not trivial bickering. There will always be some group doing more work than others thus will be wanting more in return. Greed is humanity’s downfall. Jealously, envy and selfishness are all in man’s nature when there is no system in place that strives for unity rather than individualism.

You all should know that communism as a regime never exsisted. You see comunism is the final step of the vanishing of the state as a whole, and for communism to triumph you need the whole world to be united in that cause. And all of those “communist” states were socialist in nature. So, in a way communism is a united world with no politicians where the system is: “From each according to his abilities to each according to his needs”(i dont know if i wrote this right because english isnt my strong side).
And USSR did not colapse because communism is bad, but because americans payed Gorbachev for peretstroika which ruined the Soviet economy when it was at its peak. And SFRY(Yugoslavia) perished because every republic’s nationalists were funded by guess who.

Communism has failed simply because the state has been involved. Freedom without socialism is priveledge and inequality, but Socialism without freedom is brutality and slavery.
I’m an Anarcho-Communist. Anarchist communism advocates the abolition of the state and capitalism in favor of a horizontal network of voluntary associations, workers’ councils and/or commons through which everyone will be free to satisfy their needs.
So, anyone who is convinced that authoritarianism and communism are synonymous REALLY isn’t thinking critically.
